Creative Edit: Where Are We? – Tim Martin

“Where Are We?” Yes, this shot was taken in Toronto, Canada! While we were in the city we made sure to stop at Nathan Philip’s Square (a great place to shoot if you are in the market for… lights, cool buildings and giant letters!) To capture this photo I had to walk out into the middle of the water. Onlookers behind me thought it was much deeper than it actually was… I heard someone say, “OMG that guy is going in the water!!” I managed to get my shot without getting a “soaker” 🙂

Processing “Where Are We” I took three bracketed shots EV (-2, 0, +2). and combined the three exposures in Lightroom (HDR). Then I used Lightroom presets to create a couple of different Lightroom versions. Next I combine the original three EV (-2, 0, +2) RAW files in Photomatix to create another HDR version. Finally I blend all my “versions” into Photoshop for the final image.
